Software / games / experiments

Things I wanted to exist, so I started building them.

HCK Labs is the build-in-public home of Marcin "HCK" Firmuga. PC Workman ships. Scaling Laws is being built. The rest earns its place later.

Current work

Two projects. Different problems.

One started as a Windows utility. The other starts on 1 January 2022 with $12 million and no product.

Software / shipping

PC Workman

A Windows utility for monitoring, diagnostics and practical system work. Public releases, public code and a product that has already made the jump from repository to Microsoft Store.

Game / in development

Scaling Laws

An AI company tycoon about timing. Train models, buy compute, fund research and compete against a frontier that keeps moving whether you are ready or not.

About HCK Labs

One person. Multiple builds.

HCK Labs is a label for projects built by Marcin "HCK" Firmuga. No team page. No fake headcount. The work is the point: write it, test it, break it, fix it, ship it, then show what changed.

Public by default Code, releases and development notes stay visible while the projects change.
Evidence over polish Tests, real screenshots and shipped builds matter more than a perfect pitch deck.
Small enough to change No committee needed. If an idea is weak, it gets rebuilt or removed.
On the bench now

Scaling Laws now has a public build line, not just screenshots.

The game page explains the current build. Development shows how the systems work. The roadmap tracks status. The devlog keeps the messy decisions that would disappear in a release note.
